The "Gender and Sustainable Development" brochure, published by the OECD in May 2008, summarises the OECD's cross-cutting work on gender and aims to increase understanding of the role of women in maintaining the three pillars – economic, social and environmental – of sustainable development. The special edition on Gender and Sustainable Development of the International Journal of Innovation and Sustainable Development (IJISD) was edited by former OECD Sustainable Development Advisor Candice Stevens and published as Volume 4 -- Number 2-3/2009.
